Biography
Formed out of the glorious excess of the Lost Vagueness, White Trash, Glastonbury scene in 2005,
The Guardian called Last Man Standing, ”London’s Best Unsigned band”.
The band toured with, and has supported, Polyphonic Spree, Sparks, Violent Femmes , Bobby Conn and were chosen to appear on the White Stripes at Hyde Park.
The debut album, “False Starts & Broken Promises” was originally self-released and then, following the reviews, re-released by folk-legend Judy Collins’ NY-based Wildflower label distributed worldwide by ADA. Then things got difficult. A series of arrests, a case of acute paternity, head-on collisions with gainful employment, and the long-delay of the US-release forced the band to take refuge in the studio where they completed 25 tracks, mixed by Phil Vinal & Chris Wyles (Radiohead, Auteurs, Placebo, Zoe)
New material features guest appearances by ROBERT WYATT and DAEVID ALLEN (Soft Machine, Gong)
LMS appeared at Glastonbury, Secret Garden Party and Big Chill this summer and performed dates in Russia.
